Polish Underground State coordinated political, military, and civilian activities within occupied Poland. His military arm, the [[File:PolishUS-icon.png]] [[Home Army]] (Armia Krajowa, AK), became one of the largest resistance movements in [[File:Europe-icon.png]] [[Europe]], conducting sabotage, intelligence gathering, and armed resistance against both [[File:Nazi-icon.png]] [[German Third Reich|Nazi Germany]] and the [[File:USSR-icon2.png]] [[Union of Soviet Socialist Republics|Soviet Union]].

One of the darkest moments in Polish-Soviet relations was the [[File:Forest-icon.png]] [[Katyn]] Massacre in 1940, when thousands of Polish officers and intellectuals were executed by the Soviet [[File:NKVD-icon.png]] [[People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs|NKVD]], an atrocity that deeply affected the Polish Underground and fueled distrust toward the Soviets. The massacre is qualified as a crime against humanity, crime against peace, war crime and [[File:Commie-icon.png]] [[Communism|Communist]] crime and according to a resolution of the Polish [[File:Parliament-icon.png]] [[Parliamentarianism|parliament]], or [[File:Sejm-icon.png]] [[Sejm]], it bears the hallmarks of a genocide.

Throughout the war, the Polish Underground State maintained a well-structured administration that covered various sectors, including education, judiciary, and media, all operating covertly. He worked to protect [[File:Poland-icon.png]] [[Poland|Polish]] culture and maintain a semblance of normality under the brutal occupation. The Underground State's political leadership, known as the Delegatura, attempted to unify various resistance groups under a single command. His most notable military action was the [[File:Warsaw-icon.png]] [[Warsaw]] Uprising in 1944, an attempt to liberate the capital from [[File:Nazi-icon.png]] [[German Third Reich|German]] control before the advancing [[File:Red Army-icon.png]] [[Red Army|Soviet Army]] arrived.
