Austria

Austria hosts organizations, like the OSCE and the OPEC. He is a founding member of the OECD and Interpol. It also signed the Schengen Agreement in 1995, and adopted the euro currency in 1999.

History

Austria was occupied by the Allies after German defeat in WWII. It officially regained independence in 1955 and joined the UN. Austria would remain neutral in the Cold War, while maintaining close economic ties to the West, he avoided joining any military alliance like NATO. Austria became a bridge between Eastern and Western Europe, hosting international organizations and conferences. After the Cold War, Austria began joining the West more, like joining the European Union.
