Australia
Australia, officially the Commonwealth of Australia, is a country in Oceania, between the
Indian and the
Southern Pacific Oceans, occupying the mainland of the continent of Australia and several islands. He has a hat, and hates emus. He is sometimes upside down because of the meme “everything in Australia is upside down”.
Because Australia is surrounded by sea, he has no neighbors. However, he is located relatively close to the south of Indonesia and
Papua New Guinea and northwest of
New Zealand.
The Commonwealth of Australia is often seen as a very dangerous country, due to the fact that many of the wildlife is either 🕷️ poisonous or out of control. Memes have also escalated this view further. However, if you look beside the wildlife, Australia is actually a very peaceful and happy countryball.
Australia gets along with almost everybody, has very popular tourist destinations, and just like USA, and people from countries like
China,
Iraq, and
India come and live in his clay for a better life. He is a very safe and friendly country and a great place to escape to in the outbreak of WW3.
Australia is the only country in the world that covers an entire continent. He is one of the largest countries on Earth, ranking 6th in size, about three fourths the size of
Europe.
History
On 1 January 1901, Australia gained independence from British Empire. But he still kept the
Union Jack on his flag. Most of Australia's conflicts have been because of colonial alliances, such as WW1, WW2,
Korean War
,
Vietnam War
, and the two Gulf Wars. But the most hilarious conflict Australia has ever been into was the “
Emu War
” (alone), where Aussies was mad about emus constantly destroying their crops. So they got some funds from the government and the military and decided to go to war with the emus, killing tons of them, but ultimately gave up because there was just too many emus.
At the declaration of war in 1914, a young independent Australia (along with his siblings) was pulled into their parent's war. He and
New Zealand were sent to fight the
Turks in
Gallipoli. What was meant to be an easy victory turned into a bloodbath. The two young countryballs fought in unbearable conditions against a dug-in enemy. They were evacuated in late November 1915. The
Gallipoli landings shaped Australia’s national identity, and Australia became a battle-hardened soldier and left many dead siblings behind on the beach.
In 1942, Australia adopted the Statute of Westminster, making the Commonwealth of Australia formally and fully independent from the
British Empire. But, the monarch of the
United Kingdom is still the monarch of Australia (and 15 other realms) today. On 3 March 1986, the Australia Act 1986 came into effect. Now,
United Kingdom’s government can no longer be involved with Australia's government.
As Australia was experiencing economic decline in the latter half of the 20th century, the country implemented a number of reforms, including removing internal anticompetitive policies starting in the 1980s. In the 1990s, Australia implemented laws and launched institutions to remove internal barriers to the trade of goods and labour, and to facilitate an agreement for the states to recognize each others' regulations.
In 2010, Australia was into female leadership of Julia Gillard. In 2017, Australia legalized
same-sex marriage, making the micronation of
Gay and Lesbian Kingdom obsolete.
In 2018, Peter Dutton tried to become prime minister, forcing
Malcolm Turnbull to resign. However,
Scott Morrison beat Dutton in a leadership spill, meaning that Australia now has had six different prime ministers since the beginning of 2007. Later that same year, Australia decided to make a space agency.
Adelaide will stage the headquarters.
Near the end of 2019-beginning of 2020, Australia had some huge fires on its east coast, they are currently the most destructive fires to have occurred since the 2009 Black Saturday fires in Victoria.
Australia is currently loosening COVID-19 restrictions as he is slowly recovering. In 2024 Australia announced that he’ll be banning social media for everyone under the age of 16 (now they won’t suffer from brainrot and other degeneracy)
Economy
Australia is one of the main economic powers of the Pacific Ocean. Ranchers raise huge herds of cattle and sheep on the inland plains where it is too dry for crops. Australia's sheep stations produce one third of the world's wool. Mining and wine making are also important factors of Australia's economy.
Geography
Much of Australia is dry, flat desert. The rest of inland Australia is covered with areas of grass and scattered trees and bushes. These hot plains are some of the world's most remote and thinly populated areas. The Australians have special name for them: the Outback.
Australia has few mountain ranges. The main one is the Great Dividing Range, which runs down the east coast. It separates the vast inland deserts from a strip of fertile land by the sea. Forests of eucalyptus trees grow on the mountain slopes.
Lush rain forests flourish in the far northeast of the country, where the climate is much wetter. Tasmania is a large, mountainous island off the southeastern tip of Australia.
