Bahrain, officially the Kingdom of Bahrain, is the smallest (and only island) country in the Middle East. Even though he is one of the smallest, he is also one of the most developed countries in the Middle East. Bahrain is one of the only Middle Eastern countries that does not rely on oil as the staple thing is produced. Instead, its main source of income is the banking industry, because he is considered to be a tax haven. Bahrain is plagued with internal conflict because the ruling family are 
Sunni Muslims and the majority of his population are 
Shia Muslims.
