People's Republic of Korea
The People’s Republic of Korea was a short-lived provisional government established in Korea after the surrender of Empire of Japan in WWII.
History
On 15 August 1945, the Empire of Japan surrendered to the Allied Powers in Korea. Soviet Union continued fighting Japan in Chongjin, a key northern port city. With the Soviet Red Army occupying the northern part of Korea and the U.S. taking control of the south, the Korean peninsula was divided along the 38th parallel, setting the stage for future tensions .
The PRK was established, and a bunch of communist committees funded by no other than the Soviet Union himself. The committees started to take over the north and also attempted to take the south, but United States of America did allow it and decided to get rid of all the committees in the south to establish his own government.
