He is always at war or high stakes with Israel.

The term “Palestine” comes from the ancient geo-political entity “ Philistia”, who are a group of people that settled around the Gaza Strip. The Romans later named the Holy Land “Palestine” (Philistia) to mock the Jews.

History

On November 15, 1988, the Palestinian National Council (PNC) declared the independence of the State of Palestine, recognized within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as his capital. Yasser Arafat, the Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), made the declaration during a meeting in Algiers. This was seen as a step towards a two-state solution.

From 30 October to 1 November 1991, the Madrid Conference happened: hosted at Madrid, Spain and sponsored by the Great Powers , this conference aimed at resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, leading to more direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians. This continued on to the Oslo accords between 1993 and 1995. The accords resulted in mutual recognition and created the Palestinian Authority (PA) to govern parts of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
