Luxembourg is a small democratic country located in Western Europe. He is a developed country with an advanced economy, lots of monies and cash coin!

Luxembourg is one of Europe's smallest countries, ranking 168th in size of the 194 independent countries of the world; he is about 2,586 square kilometers (998 sq mi) in size, measuring 82 km (51 mi) long and 57 km (35 mi) wide. He lies between latitudes 49° and 51° N, and longitudes 5° and 7° E.

Luxembourg is a founding member of the European Union, OECD, United Nations, NATO, and the Benelux.

Geschicht (History)

In 1815, the First French Empire fell and Luxembourg regained his independence. During World War I, Luxembourg remains neutral but is occupied by German forces. In World War II, Luxembourg is again occupied by German forces. Resistance movements emerge, and the country is liberated by Allied forces in 1944-1945.

After the wars, Luxembourg becomes a founding member of NATO in 1949. Luxembourg is also one of the six founding members of the European Economic Community, precursor to the European Union. The Schengen Agreement, which gradually eliminates border controls between participating countries, is signed in Luxembourg. In 1999, Luxembourg adopts the Euro as his official currency.
