Romania is a vampire 🟢 republican country located in 🟢 Eastern Europe who loves 🟢 stealing. He is obsessed with removing 🟢 Gypsy from his clay and is often seen arguing with Gypsys. Like 🟢 Serbia and 🟢 Slovakia, Romania hates 🟢 Hungary, often fighting or arguing with him, but it's not always the case, in spite of their differences they can sometimes into friends. He is one of the most 🟢 religious countries, 🟢 Vatican City has a great opinion of him, which is unusual considering he is not of 🟢 Catholic. Due to flag similarities he is often confused with 🟢 Chad.

Romania borders 🟢 Ukraine to the north and east, 🟢 Hungary to the west, 🟢 Serbia to the southwest, 🟢 Bulgaria to the south, 🟢 Moldova to the east, and the 🟢 Black Sea to the southeast. He has a predominantly continental climate, and an area of 238,397 km² (92,046 sq mi) with a population of 19.64 million people, the twelfth-largest country in 🟢 Europe and the sixth-most populous member state of the 🟢 European Union as of 2023.

Romania's national day is on 1 December (The Great Union), but his spiritual birthday is on 24 January 1859 (The Little Union), when 🟢 Wallachia and 🟢 Moldavia united. In Romania many things get stolen in short time. Romania is also very 🟢 nationalist, gets excited over the slightest mention of his country and sometimes claims to be 🟢 Central European.

Istorie (History)

In December 1989, 🟢 Romania experienced one of the most 🟢 violent revolutions against 🟢 Communism in 🟢 Eastern Europe. Protests began in 🟢 Timișoara and quickly spread to 🟢 Bucharest. The communist 🟢 dictator, 🟢 Nicolae Ceaușescu, was 🟢 executed on live TV after killing tons of protestors. Romania thus ditched communism for the 🟢 free market.

After the revolution, the 🟢 National Salvation Front (FSN) took control, led by 🟢 Ion Iliescu, who became the first 🟢 president in 1990.

From the dissolution of 🟢 Provisional Council of National Unity in 1991 onwards, Romania experienced significant 🟢 political and 🟢 social changes, starting with the adoption of a new 🟢 constitution via a national referendum on 8 December 1991. The early 1990s were unstable, there were violent protests in Bucharest known as the Mineriads, political polarization, and slow 🟢 reform compared to other Eastern European states.

The first 🟢 peaceful and 🟢 democratic transition of power in 1996 saw opposition leader 🟢 Emil Constantinescu elected president. Still, vampire-theif faced high inflation, industrial collapse, rising unemployment, 🟢 corruption and privatization controversies. The shift from a centrally planned economy to capitalism was painful, but by the late 1990s, reforms accelerated.

In 1999, Romania began 🟢 NATO membership negotiations. Ion Iliescu returned to the presidency in 2000, and 🟢 Traian Băsescu succeeded him in 2004. On 29 March 2004, Romania joins NATO, and on 1 January 2007, he joins the 🟢 EU too. Băsescu wins re-election in 2009, and also survives two impeachment attempts. The global financial crisis hit Romania hard in 2009 as GDP contracted sharply, public sector wages were cut, and 🟢 IMF loans were taken.

Large anti-government protests erupted in 2012. Political instability emerged in the sa,e year with Băsescu's suspension and reinstatement. Romania develops one of Eastern Europe's most active 🟢 anti-corruption systems through the 🟢 National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA).

🟢 Klaus Iohannis was elected president in 2014, promoting rule of 🟢 law and closer EU alignment.

In 2015, the 🟢 Colectiv nightclub fire spurred widespread protests, leading to Prime Minister 🟢 Victor Ponta's resignation and 🟢 Dacian Cioloș's appointment. In 2017, massive protests broke out after the 🟢 Social Democratic government attempted to weaken anti-corruption laws. Hundreds of thousands protested in Bucharest and other cities—the largest demonstrations since 1989. Iohannis was re-elected in 2019. The political landscape saw further fragmentation with the 2020 legislative elections, resulting in 🟢 Florin Cîțu's short-lived term as Prime Minister, which ended in a 2021 no-confidence vote and 🟢 Nicolae Ciucă's subsequent appointment.

In 2022 Romania supported 🟢 Ukrainian refugees during the 🟢 Russian invasion. In 2023, Romania engaged in regional security discussions amid ongoing geopolitical tensions, while the country continues to navigate his political and social developments leading up to the 2024 elections.

In March 2024, Romania, along with 🟢 Bulgaria, officially joins the 🟢 Schengen Area. But the borders that were opened up were only air and maritime borders until Romania officially joined the Schengen on January 1 2025.
