Nazi Germany, officially known as the German Reich and later the Greater German Reich, also referred to as the German Third Reich or the Thousand Year Reich, was the German state from 1933 to 1945. During this period, Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party seized control, turning the country into a totalitarian dictatorship.

Nazi Germany is known to be very sadistic and genocidal, ruthlessly experimenting, torturing and killing anybody who did not fit the ideal of the " Aryan master race". The regime's ideology was rooted in an interpretation of Social Darwinism and a belief in the superiority of the Aryan race, or in other words, ethnic Germans. This led to the systematic persecution and extermination of Jews, Romanis, Slavs, disabled people, political dissidents, and many other minority groups in violent purges. The most famous is the mass genocide of six million Jews is now known as the Holocaust.

He was really successful in his death camps, which were inspired by the gulags of the Soviet Union. His expansionist policy was partly inspired from United States's manifest destiny. Nazi Germany needed allies to accomplish world dominance (or at least continental dominance), so he became friends with Italy and Japan because they were also fascist and has the same worldview and goals. While Germany was saving Italy's sorry ahh all the time, Japan was extremely powerful and could make a strong diversion for threats.

Nazi Germany is also called the "Third Reich" (Third Empire), as he considered the Holy Roman Empire as the First Reich, the German Empire as the Second Reich, and himself as the Third.

He is usually portrayed as Germany's dark past in comics and father of modern Germany in animation memes.

History

Buildup to War

Although the Nazis won the greatest share of the popular vote in the two Reichstag general elections of 1932, they did not have a majority. Hitler refused to participate in a coalition government unless he was the leader. Under pressure from politicians, industrialists, and the business community, president Paul von Hindenburg appointed Hitler as Chancellor of Germany on 30 January 1933. This event is known as the Machtergreifung ("seizure of power"). And as a result of his poverty from the Treaty of Versailles, Germany turned himself into the German Third Reich in 1933 as the Nazis came to power.

In 1935, Nazi Germany reclaimed the demilitarized Saar region and in 1936, he remilitarized the Rhineland. Meanwhile, Italy, who have became fascist back in 1922, also began his expansionist endeavours. During this period, the Third Reich rebuilt his armaments industry, transforming it into a formidable military-industrial complex. The regime also developed a powerful propaganda machine, producing films such as Triumph of the Will (1935). However, Germany got humiliated during the 1936 Olympic Games by American.

Between 1936 and 1937, Nazi Germany helped fellow fascists to destroy Spanish republicans and bombed Basque in the Spanish Civil War. In 1938, the Third Reich annexed Austria along with Czechoslovakia and his Sudetenland clay. Slovakia became independent, and Bohemia and Moravia became a protectorate.

In 1938, the United Kingdom and France met with Third Reich in Munich to sign an agreement in which the Reich agreed to cease his territorial expansion. However, in September 1939, Third Reich violated this agreement by invading Poland under a secret non-aggression pact with the Soviet Union. When Third Reich refused to withdraw from Poland, the United Kingdom and France declared war on him, beginning World War II.

Blitzkrieg!

In 1940, Third Reich Germany formed alliances with the Italy and Japan. Following this, he annexed Denmark, Norway, Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands in spring 1940, all in a span of two months. Then, in May, he invaded France, resulting in the establishment of a puppet state, Vichy France, who took control of French territory as the French government fled to the United Kingdom. The fall of France was very embarrassing for the French people and shocked the international community because France was seen as a military powerhouse at the time. 90,000 French soldiers were killed in a mere six weeks, meaning that one French soldier died every 40 seconds for 42 straight days. Maybe it was a good thing that France surrendered, or else all the rich culture of France would have been destroyed in war.

On 7 September 1940, Nazi Germany started to bomb United Kingdom's clay but was ultimately defeated and was forced to withdraw on 11 May 1941. Smaller air raids continued throughout the entire war.

In early 1941, Nazi sent troops to Libya to help the incompetent Italy fight the Allies. The same year, Nazi Germany invaded Yugoslavia and Greece. Italy, who invaded Monaco, helped him. Italy set up multiple puppet states in Yugoslavia's clay. Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria allied with Nazi Germany in hopes of not being killed by him.

Meanwhile, Soviet Union tried to do a little blitzkrieg of his own and kill Finland, but only got small amounts of clay and an insane K-D ratio loss. So, instead USSR took his anger out on Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Nazi Germany questioned his strength.

The Third Reich wanted more " living space", and looking at his empire, he was quite powerful. So he decided to violate the non-aggression pact, declaring war on the Soviet Union in the summer of 1941, despite the fact that the Soviets were funding him and also despite still being at the Western Front. This was a stupid mistake.

Nazi Germany and his client states invaded Soviet clay, forcing themselves further and further east. Germany occupied the Baltics, Ukraine, and even parts of the Caucasus, murdering and pillaging along the way to make settlements for the German master race. Naturally, the anti-Soviet country of Finland aligned with him. America had also declared war on Germany in 1941 because Japan made the retarded mistake of attacking Pearl Harbor. USA joined the Allied Powers and invaded Nazi Germany in the Western Front.

In 1941, Germany began the systematic killing of Juden, known as the Holocaust. They were sent to concentration camps where they were forced to labor until they die of malnutrition, exhaustion, or execution (being shot or gassed). The Jews had all their heads shaved and all wore the same striped prisoner wear. The most infamous mass extermination site was the Auschwitz, the largest of them all. A train would transport the Jews to their graves.

In 1942, the Allies landed in North Africa, so Germany decided to invade Vichy France, and his colony Tunisia. Malta was also heavily bombed by Germany because he was a crucial Allied base threatening Axis supply lines to North Africa.

The Thousand Year Reich Lasted Thirteen Years

As the Third Reich kept advancing into Russian clay, the Soviet Union retreated back, where there is food supply. During winter time of 1942-43, the Nazis had frozen and starved to death. Soviet Union already have food supplies after retreating, then he outnumbered Nazi Germany and pushed him back. After that, Soviet Union started to invade into Nazi territory. Third Reich was forced to retreat and was defeated at and Stalingrad on Soviet's clay in February 1943. Losses continued to mount after Stalingrad, leading to a sharp reduction in the popularity of the Nazi Party and deteriorating morale. Soviet forces continued to push westward after the failed German offensive at the Battle of Kursk in the summer of 1943. By September 1943, the Soviet Union had reclaimed most of his lost SSR's clay.

Romania, Finland, and Iran ended up betrayed German Third Reich after Soviet Union, UK, and Bulgaria invaded them. In 1943, USA pushed up Italy's clay, but Nazi Germany took the rest of Italy before USA could fully liberate, and Third Reich created the puppet state Italian Social Republic. German troops surrounded their former allies and captured 600,000 Italian soldiers without a single fight.

On 6 June 1944, France, UK, USA, and Canada landed on Nazi-occupied Normandy and began pushing inwards. Vichy France to surrendered, and together, the Allied Powers liberated Paris in September. Hitler was furious, and ordered to destroy Paris to the ground. This command was not followed by his Nazi officers.

On 20 July 1944, Hitler survived an assassination attempt. He ordered brutal reprisals, resulting in 7,000 arrests and the execution of more than 4,900 people.

After the Battle of the Bulge of 1944-45, the Third Reich had retreated from the Ardennes, following up with the liberation of Luxembourg, Belgium, and Netherlands from German occupation. Meanwhile, USA had liberated Italy and Monaco.

The failed Ardennes Offensive was the last major German offensive on the western front, and in the east, the Soviet Union had killed off all of Nazi Germany's client states, replaced them with his own governments, and is headed straight at Berlin. Soviet forces entered Germany on 27 January. Popular support for Hitler almost completely disappeared as the war drew to a close. Suicide rates in Germany increased, particularly in areas where the Red Army was advancing. Among soldiers and party personnel, suicide was often deemed an honourable and heroic alternative to surrender.

Hitler refused to surrender but his lines could not hold up any longer. As the Battle of Berlin was won by the Soviets in April 1945, Hitler shot himself in the head in his bunker, with Joseph Goebbels becoming civilian leader for one day before killing himself too. USA and UK had also arrived at Berlin as well, mortally wounding the Third Reich. On 8 May 1945, Nazi Germany under the de-facto leadership of Lutz Graf Schwerin von Krosigk finally surrendered. The last remnants of the Reich were obliterated as Norway was freed.

Germany was carved up by the Allies into four pieces, the Soviet Union governing the north-east of Germany while France, Britain and America each had their slice occupied in western Germany. (This became known as Allied-Occupied Germany). Nazi Germany is actually alive and is currently living in Argentina's basement oh sorry I meant his secret base at the Moon

Casualties

All and all, the systematic extermination of "inferior" peoples during the Holocaust and other purges tally the death toll to:

Estimates of the total German war dead range from 5.5 to 6.9 million persons. A study by the historian Rüdiger Overmans puts the number of German military dead and missing at 5.3 million, including 900,000 men conscripted from outside of Germany's 1937 borders. Richard Overy estimated in 2014 that about 353,000 civilians were killed in Allied air raids. Other civilian deaths include 300,000 Germans (including Jews) who were victims of Nazi political, racial, and religious persecution and 200,000 who were murdered in the Nazi euthanasia program. Political courts called Sondergerichte sentenced some 12,000 members of the German resistance to death, and civil courts sentenced an additional 40,000 Germans. Mass rapes of German women also took place, especially by Soviet forces in Berlin.

Society & Life

If someone said something bad about or is a threat to Hitler or the Nazi Party, Gestapo (German secret police) and SS would attack and imprison them.

In schools, Hitler's portrait is in every classroom's wall. Mein Kampf is an official history book, and all teachers had to join the Nazi Party to be able to spread Nazi beliefs and indoctrinate students, as they learned to respect the Führer ( German word for leader).

In women's society, they were all expected to give up on their jobs and look after their families. If they have 8 children, they would be awarded a medal. They are also supposed to wear traditional peasant clothes and flag shoes, they were not allowed to dye their hairs or smoke.

Religion

Nazi Germany's original population was majority Christian. Judaism was completely eradicated and minority faiths like Jehovah's Witnesses were banned.

There were differing views among the Nazi leaders as to the future of religion in Germany. Anti-Church radicals included Martin Bormann, Alfred Rosenberg, and Heinrich Himmler. Some Nazis advocated " Positive Christianity", a uniquely Nazi form of Christianity that rejected Christianity's Jewish origins and the Old Testament, and portrayed "true" Christianity as a fight against Jews, with Jesus depicted as an Aryan.
