Argentina, officially known as the Argentine Republic, is located in the southern part of South America. Spanning an area of 2,780,400 km² (1,073,500 sq mi), he is the second-largest country in South America after
Brazil, the fourth-largest in the Americas, and the eighth-largest in the world. Argentina shares most of the Southern Cone with
Chile to the west and is bordered by
Bolivia and
Paraguay to the north,
Brazil to the northeast,
Uruguay and the south
Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the
Drake Passage to the south.
Argentina is sometimes considered a rising power (not a potential superpower, though), meaning they have been able to join many international organisations, like
Mercosur, the
Organization of American States, and, of course, the
United Nations (like every other sovereign country). He also used to be a part of the
Union of South American Nations.
Argentina usually doesn't start discussions but can get very aggressive when he feels insulted, or when other countryballs make fun of him pointing at yuo, . But most of the time he is a very welcoming, magnetic and friendly ball, just like his adoptive parent,
Brazil
Italy.
History
Early Years
In 1861, the
Argentine Confederation engaged in conflict with the
State of Buenos Aires. The war concluded with
Buenos Aires being annexed by the
Confederation, leading to the formation of modern-day
Argentina. Subsequently,
Buenos Aires initiated another civil war, resulting in the unification of the remaining provinces under a
unitario government.
Wars and Allies
Argentina secretly supported the
Colorado government in his effort to take over
Uruguay, while the
Brazilian Empire directly attacked
Uruguay to assist. In 1864,
Paraguay attacked the
Brazilian Empire, possibly to support his ally or to gain direct access to the sea.
Paraguay requested passage through Argentina to reach
Uruguay, but was denied, leading to an attack on Argentina. Consequently,
Uruguay, the
Brazilian Empire, and Argentina formed an alliance and defeated
Paraguay. During the conflict, Argentina also dealt with a confederate revolt.
In 1870 Argentina conquered the
Chaco, killing a large part of the
inhabitant population in the process. At the same time, Argie also stopped another confederate revolt. Between 1870 and 1874, Argentina faced a "civil war" when the mitrists (Mitre supporters) from
Buenos Aires revolted because
Domingo Faustino Sarmiento won the presidency instead of
Bartolomé Mitre, but they ended up losing the war.
In 1879, during the War of the
Pacific, Argentina was considering helping
Bolivia and
Peru. But
Chile offered him the majority of the
Patagonia if he doesn't intervene, and Argentina took the deal. After the war, Argentina and
Chile almost killed
Wallmapu to death and took all of his clay.
In 1880 Argentina had a civil war again, this time
Buenos Aires started the conflict because he wanted the
capital to be part of him, the also
Mitrist
Corrientes helped him, but both were beaten. Around 1885-1886 Argentina took most of the
Puna de Atacama from
Bolivia after invading him. During the
Russo-Japanese
War, the
Empire of Japan and Argentina became friends after he sold him ships as support.
Interior Issues
From 1891 to 1916, Argentina experienced conflicts between the ruling
conservative oligarchy, known as the
National Autonomist Party, and the
Radical Civic Union (UCR), largely due to the
oligarchy's control over the political system. Although the oligarchy initially suppressed the UCR's revolts, the UCR eventually gained power after electoral reforms, leading to his victory in the 1916 elections and the establishment of himself as the ruling party.
In 1913,
CABA invented an
underground tram similar to the one that
London had built using some artifacts that
Belgium gave him. In 1969,
CDMX stole that invention and sent it to be imported throughout Latin America.
Around 1920, Argentina, ruled by
radicalism, got attacked by
anarchists and
rebel workers, so Argie destroyed them, killing thousands of rebels. Argentina stayed neutral during WW1 even under the pressure of the
United Kingdom to join, and even helped
Germany with supplies.
this is crazy foreshadowing
During WW2, Argentina tried to stay neutral because he felt a lot of respect towards his
Axis friends and
adoptive father, but declared war on
Nazi Germany and the
Empire of Japan in 1944 under the
AMERICAN pressure. After the war, Argie helped
Italy to recover by sending food and also a lot of
Nazis hid in Argentina's clay.
Cold War
Argentina became a
military dictatorship during 1930-1932 due to . In 1965 Argentina "defeated" (killed more opponents but there weren't any territorial gains)
Murica's intervention for Cold War reasons
Chile at the
Laguna del Desierto border clash incident, rising the tensions higher than never before. The situation in Argentina worsened with the death of the last pure-blooded
Selk'nam in 1974. Truly sad.
Argentina became a military dictatorship again during 1976-1983 due to
Murica's intervention for Cold War reasons (yes, this one was real).
Argentina fought against
left-wing guerrilla groups like the
ERP and
Montoneros, which had formed during the Cold War. The military used brutal methods, including kidnapping, torture, and forced disappearances, to defeat these groups who were just as brutal. This period, known as the "Dirty War", saw the military target not only guerrillas but also anyone they suspected of opposing the regime. By the early 1980s, the guerrilla groups were defeated, but an estimated 10,000 to 30,000 people were disappeared, many never to be seen again. These actions have been widely condemned, and after the return to
democracy in 1983, many former military leaders were prosecuted for their crimes.
Through 1976-1982 Argentina had an stress attack because of the mental instability that
dictatorship and the
Nazis in his clay were causing on his mind, and he almost declared war on
Chile in 1978 but
Vatican City convinced him to not do that. Argie wanted some islands close to him so he invaded the
Falklands and
sanguche islands and occupied them for some time but
United Kingdom beat Argentina, forcing him to leave the islands alone. This was known as the Falklands War, which happened in 1982.
After the war, Argentina reflexioned and became
democratic again. In 1989 Argentina defeated the guerrilla group called
MTP.
Recent Times
In 1990 Argentina became more interventionist, he joined the gulf coalition to fight
Ba'athist Iraq, capturing +500 ships, recovering his pride after the
Malvinas war and becoming a non-
NATO ally. In 1991 he helped
Croatia fight against
Yugoslavia, and in 1994 he participated in ![]()

Operation Uphold Democracy against
Haiti.
In 1994 the
AMIA was bombed by an
unknown ball (although
Milei suspects that and is later confirmed that it is
Iran and
Hezbollah). In 1995, Argentina sold weapons to
Ecuador for the
Cenepa War against
Peru, Argentina regrets doing that though. And in 2001 Argie suffered an economic crisis. In 2013 an Argentinian became the pope, being the first "
New World" ball to achieve this, the same year another Argentinian made a 3D animated film of fútbol toys that come to life (with the help of
Spain).
Argentina was a part of the COVID-19 pandemic and locked down the country to prevent the spread of virus. In 2022, he participated in the 2022 World Cup in
Qatar, and he manages to win the finals, making him the champion of the 2022 World Cup. In 2023, Argentina elected
Javier Milei president.
Milei's views distinguish him in the Argentine political landscape and have garnered significant public attention and polarizing reactions.
