The Bahamas, officially the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, is a country in the 
Atlantic Ocean, specifically in the Caribbean Sea, specifically in the 
Lucayan Archipelago.
Bahamas claims to be the place that 
Christopher Columbus discovered the 
Americas. Bahams also likes to do crafts including baskets made of palm leaves and often used voodoo dolls. His favourite animal is the crab. Bahamas is a popular tourist destination for 
'Muricans who can't reach 
Hawaii. Bahamas is of richest in the Caribbean, and is of smol.
History
On 1973 July 10, The Bahamas gains independence from the 
British Empire and becomes a member of the 
Commonwealth of Nations. Sir 
Lynden O. Pindling becomes the first prime minister.
In the 1980s, The Bahamas develops his tourism industry, becoming a popular destination. The country also becomes a significant offshore financial center.
In 1992 August, the 
Free National Movement (FNM) led by Hubert Ingraham wins the general election, ending 25 years of rule by the 
Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) and Sir Lynden Pindling. But in 2002 May, the PLP returns to power under the leadership of Perry Christie. This goes back and forth as in 2007 May, the FNM, led by 
Hubert Ingraham, wins the general election and returns to power. In 2012 May, the PLP, led again by Perry Christie, wins the general election and takes control of the government, again. In 2017 May, the FNM, led by 
Dr. Hubert Minnis, wins the general election in a landslide victory, ousting the PLP.
In 2019 September, 
Hurricane Dorian, a Category 5 storm, devastates parts of the Bahamas, especially the Abaco Islands and 
Grand Bahama, causing extensive damage and loss of life.
In 2021 September, the PLP, led by Philip "Brave" Davis, wins the general election, defeating the FNM and becoming the new prime minister.
Today, The Bahamas continues to focus on rebuilding and recovery efforts post- Hurricane Dorian and navigating the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Tourism and financial services continue to remain as crucial sectors for the Bahamian economy.
