Portuguese name, pronounced TEE-more-LESH-tay), better known as East Timor (
English name), and officially the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, is a poor country in the region of 
Southeast Asia, that occupies the eastern half of the island of 
Timor.
He wants into ASEAN, but is often really saddened about this issue because

Istória (History)
In 2001, a 
constitution assembly was elected in East Timor under the 
United Nations Administered East Timor, and this constitution was approved in 2002, finally giving Timor-Leste his independence back since 
Indonesia occupied him. More than 205,000 refugees had returned.
In 2006, a crisis of unrest and factional fighting (2006 East Timorese crisis) forced 155,000 people to flee their homes. The United Nations sent in security forces to restore order.
