Singapore, officially the Republic of Singapore, is an island country and city-state in Southeast Asia. The country's territory comprises one main island, 63 satellite islands and islets, and one outlying islet. He is depicted as a triangle for unknown reasons, but is assumed to be either a pun ("Singa" is similar to "Trianga"; thus "Triangapore"), as well as a reference to the Indonesia–Malaysia–Singapore Growth Triangle.

Singapore is very strict on laws, and hate chewing gum for several reasons, like how people stick them in public places. Most of his population is ethnically 🀄️ Chinese (76%). His national day is August 9.

History

🏳️ Malaysia kicked Singapore out because he was afraid that Singapore was working with the Chinese Communist Party, despite Singapore saying that he hates the communist. This assumption was not without reason though, as the CCP at that time was trying to export violent communist revolution to Southeast Asia, primarily through oversees Chinese people. And, Malaysia was imposing a racist law called the "Bumiputera" that favored native Malays over Chinese, which further caused riots in 1964, and is a contributing factor to the kick of Singapore in 1965.

🏳️ Lee Kuan Yew, who was eager to join the Malay federation, was devastated after hearing this. When the independence was proclaimed, he cried on national television in front of his own people. Some Malays couldn't wait and started to fly the fireworks.

Lee's idea of a "Malaysia for Malaysians, not Malaysia for Malays" had not found favor with the Malays. Malays were not proud of their poverty, and became very jealous to see the 🀄️ Chinese, who had sacrificed the most, succeeding economically. So, Malaysia made laws 🏳️ favoring native Malays over Chinese. Malays were mostly 🏳️ Muslims, and upon hearing from their Muslim brethren in 🏳️ Xinjiang and 🏳️ Gansu that the Chinese government was forcing Muslims to farm pigs, hated the Chinese even more. Lee Kuan Yew and his Singapore, who was friendly to the Chinese population, was kicked out as a result.

Singapore, under Lee, was 🏳️ authoritarian. But, different from most other authoritarian regimes, both the country and people prospered. This partly was due to the 🏳️ religious diversity that set the people and society on 🏳️ high moral standards. Another reason is the Chinese majority of Singaporeans, who preserved the 🏳️ traditional Chinese culture really well. The generosity of the 🏳️ Tang, the openness of the 🏳️ Song, and the artisan spirit of the 🏳️ Ming all represent themselves really well in Singapore. The 🏳️ Buddhist philosophy and 🏳️ Confucian mindset is the core of the prosperous society. Economically, Singapore, once just a fishing village, became one of the 🏳️ Four Asian Tigers.

In 1992 Singapore outlawed the sales of chewing gum. Some motivations for the ban included stopping the placement of used chewing gum in inappropriate and costly places, such as the sensors of subway doors, inside lock cylinders, and on elevator buttons.

During and after 2020, an increasing number of Chinese people fled to Singapore to escape the harsh COVID lockdowns and the Zero COVID Policy.
