Italy

Italy, officially the Italian Republic, is a country located on the Italian Peninsula in southern and western Europe. The Italian Peninsula stretches from the middle of the Mediterranean Sea to the Alps on its northern land border, whose shape like a boot. Italy is known for his delicious foods like pizza 🍕 and pasta 🍝.

Due to his large economy, and great range of allies, Italyball has been able to join many international organisationballs. For instance, the nation has benefited massively from being in the European Union and NATO, along with being a part of the Union for the Mediterranean, OECD, and like every sovereign country, they have joined the United Nations.

Storia (History)

After WWII ended, Italy became a republic in 1946 by popular referendum, and was forced to give up all his colonies to United Kingdom, France, and Ethiopia except for Italian Somaliland. He also had to pay reparations and was prohibited from owning heavy-duty military machines for some time. Italy started rebuilding his economy and industry based on loans from the Marshall Plan. He narrowly avoided a socialist victory in the 1948 elections and became affiliated with USA and NATO (joined as founding member in 1949) against Soviet Union.

In 1951, Italy was invited to join ECSC, which developed into European Economic Community in 1956 and 1957 via the Treaty of Rome with France, West Germany, and the Low Countries. In 1960, Italy gave Somalia his independence; then, he allowed USA to place strategic missiles on his clay during the Cold War (the Jupiter Missiles). Those were removed following the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. Unfortunately, the late 1960s began a bad time for Italy. The years of lead were a terroristic period in which many people died by mortal attempts.

Italy got rid of Mafia activities in the 1970s. He also developed a modern economy in the 1970s and 1980s, producing luxury brands like Ferrari. He joined European Union in 1993 as a founding member of European Economic Community after the Maastricht Treaty. Italy partook in only some coalitions to keep peace in the Middle East under NATO. He is a G20 and G7 member and the third most-developed EU member. Italy now produces luxury sunglasses and good food and patrols the southern coast to look for African and Middle Eastern refugees.
