United States of America (USA), also commonly known as just the United States (US) or America, is a powerful superpower nation located in North America. He likes oil, fast food, eagles 🦅, more oil, and bringing Fʀᴇᴇᴅᴏᴍ to other countries. Since WWII, US has had a significant global influence in economics, politics, and culture.

In Polandball comics, he is often portrayed as dumb, ignorant, highly competitive, and violent, but can be very patriotic, passionate, and powerful. He is also the world's biggest democracy and has the most influence on the planet, hence the nickname "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave". He will do almost anything for that sweet, sweet oil. His hospital bills are also really high, though the healthcare itself is pretty good. Many people from Authoritarian countries and poor countries want to come to live and build their life up in America, because there are lots of opportunities and freedom in America.

America is the home of freedom and liberty, has a glorious history and an unparalleled spirit of patriotism. Despite his best efforts at stoping terrorism, fascism and communism, edgy teens on the internet still thinks that USA is at fault for every wrong in the world. But, for sure some US politicians are abusing America's role as the global police, like Kissinger.

In the general Polandball community (such as r/Polandball), America is the character that gets most made fun of, alongside Poland.

History

Independence

The United States of America started as a colony in North America, called the Thirteen Colonies. The colony belonged to Great Britain. But because of tax constantly raising, the people in the colony were not happy. They do not feel represented by the parliament that decide the tax. Tensions rose and exploded. The Thirteen Colonies, led by George Washington, were fighting the Brits. In the end, the Colonies won and declared independence as the United States on July 4, 1776. America embraced republicanism and rejected Britain's monarchism.

Manifest Destiny

America started to expand, believing it was God's will for him to take over the continent. He took some native lands in the west of the Appalachian Mountains in the late 1700s. USA started minting coins in 1792. By 1796, he had begun exploring and colonizing clay as far as the Ohio Territory. In 1800, USA began to design his new capital, DC.

In 1803, America bought Louisiana territory of France for 15 million dollars, which doubled his clay size. America also bought Florida from Spain and defined his borders with the latter.

The British keeps on interrupting American waters, limiting their trade with Europe and stealing US' naval men. SO, in 1812 US and Britain declared war and US fought against the British colony of Canada. No major terroritries changed, but Canada burned down the White House.

The US still wanted to expand more, so he offered his rival, Mexico, 30 million dollars for California and New Mexico. But Mexico refused, so the United States sent troops to a disputed region along the Mexican-American border. The troops were captured, and the US used this as an excuse to declare war, leading to the Mexican-American War in 1846. Mexico was unprepared for this, and after two years in 1848 Mexico gave up a third of his territory to the United States in exchange for 15 million dollars. This was the largest expansion ever made by the US of A.

Civil War

America, under Abraham Lincoln, decided to ban slavery and free the 8balls in 1860. But some states in the southern part of the country are not happy with this ban, believing it will hurt the economy. So, these states started to break away and secede from the USA, and formed a new country- the Confederate States of America in 1861. America is now split in two: the northern part, called themselves The Union, and the southern part, The Confederacy. The two sides fought, and eventually, the Union won in 1865. A lot of people are salty about this loss and proclaimed that the Confederacy was fighting for "state rights" instead of slavery, which was partly true, but the state rights being fought for were for to allow slavery.

The Gilded Age

After the Civil War, the reconstruction of the devastation began. Immigration surged, the economy boomed, and the United States started to become a major power. In 1856, USA acquired the Guano Islands. USA was also focused on civilizing the Wild West, such as building a transcontinental railroad—completed in 1871—and conquering many 3balls. However, this sometimes resulted in USA's loss, such as at Little Bighorn River in 1876. USA forced the Native Americans to move to Indian reservations to make room for cities and farms. They initially resisted, attacking American farms and cities. This is where those scenes of Native Americans attacking caravans in Western movies came about. Still, most of the violent resistance movements on the part of the Native Americans ended by 1900.

USAball also expanded his clay by purchasing Alaska from Russia for 7.2 million US dollars in 1867. By the 1880s, USA had vastly improved his economy and status. France gifted him the Statue of Liberty in 1886. In 1892, USA held his first world's fair in Chicago. In 1896, the Klondike gold Rush sent many US citizens to Yukon for gold.

Meanwhile, America started doing a little bit of imperialism of his own. After giving Liberia his de facto independence, he annexed Hawaii in 1895. USA defeated Spain in the 1898 Spanish-American War, taking Guam, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Philippines. However, the last one gave him some trouble by becoming independent, and USA fought him until 1902. He became a loyal child afterward. Before the Spanish-American wars, Spain was no longer considered a global power but a rich and weak country and was considered a secondary country among the European powers. Therefore, the Spanish defeat did not draw much European attention concerning the military capacity of America. America was already the most significant economic power in the world but with little military importance. The United States replaced Spain as a major power. Still, this marked the beginning of USA replacing Spain as a major world power.

USA was also involved in China as a part of the Eight-Nation Alliance in the 1890s and 1900s. He helped build a railroad through China's clay. Russian Empire suggested carving China up but USA opposed, while all other members of the Eight-Nation Alliance agreed. America got his hands on American Samoa in 1900.

In 1903, USA invented the airplane ✈️ and started mass-producing cars in the 1900s and 1910s. The Rust Belt across his clay was a surge of income. USA tried to stay neutral and be isolated in world politics. Still, in 1906, he helped orchestrate the Treaty of Portsmouth to end the Russo-Japanese War. America also built a canal through Panama, it was completed in 1914.

World Wars

Despite the 1915 sinking of the Lusitania, USA refrained from fighting with Germany until the British revealed the Zimmermann Telegram to USA in 1917. Germany was asking Mexico to attack the United States, and the United States wasn't happy about that. So he went to Europe and destroyed Germany, consolidating the country's military prestige for the first time.

America purchased Danish West Indies in 1917 and renamed him " Virgin Islands".

After WWI, Europe was in a financial crisis. Germany was forced to pay many reputations, so USA gave him many loans. Europe's decline made America emerge as a world power. In 1920, USA banned alcohol but many still continued to drink it secretly. Throughout the 1920s, USA had a boom era. He even flew solo across the Atlantic in 1927.

In 1919 and 1920, some radical leftists conducted terrorist attacks.

In 1929, however, stocks dropped sharply in the Wall Street Crash. The Great Depression began around the world as USA called back all his debts immediately. USA's banks and gold standard failed by 1932. In 1933, however, he started to embark on the New Deal. His economy steadily improved as he repealed Prohibition and moved Oklahoma and Nebraska away from the Dust Bowl. USA developed a policy of isolationism in the later 1930s against fascism in Europe and East Asia.

USA tried to remain neutral during WWII, though he embargoed Japan when he invaded China full-scale in 1937. USA also aided UK and France to fight Nazi Germany. But when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941, USA decided enough was enough and entered the war.

All of USA's industries converted to make wartime goods, and fought against Germany in Europe and Japan in the Pacific. USA flexed his industrial and military might, becoming a global superpower. Events like the Normandy landings ensured an Allied victory in Europe. But Japan, due to their traditions, wasn't about to give up and humiliate themselves in front of the whole world. So the USA developed nuclear weapons, and nuked the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, finally making them surrender.

The Cold War

After WWII, USSR and USA emerged as two global superpowers with opposite ideologies and philosophies. The two were in a standoff, fighting proxy wars and constantly threatening each other. USSR directed his agents to subvert America, by dumbing down education, turning peaceful protests violent, and adding fuel to the already divisive issues like the Vietnam War.

After WWII ended, America greatly helped the nations who were wrecked. USA could do this effectively because back in 1944, the US established his dollar as the world's reserve currency, meaning while trading in US dollars, countries can keep their own currency artificially low, allowing them to export cheap goods to the US.Generous loans were given to Germany and Japan (which allowed them to become the economic powerhouses we see today). America was able to from deep ties with the nations he helped, and the US got military bases all around the world, circling the USSR, in return. In essence, the deal was: "we'll help you rebuild by selling stuff in our market, in exchange you become our ally in the Cold War."

North Korea, with help from Sovietball, attacked South Korea in 1950, and captured Seoul very quickly. So, USA brought in NATO members and United Nations to help counter the invasion. The Korean War ended in 1952 and was a tie (but the South technically gained more land).

USA also gave the 8balls more rights in the 1950s and 1960s. The civil rights movement of the 8balls inspired the 3balls to also claim their rights, with USA giving them rights at the end of the 1960s.

In 1955, North Vietnam attacked South Vietnam, with the help of USSR and PRC. So, the US sent troops to counter the invasion. The war was very brutal, and American soldiers suffered the harsh climate of Vietnam plus the deadly traps laid out by the communist Vietnamese guerrillas. The US soldiers, fueled with rage, committed war crimes against Vietnamese civilians.

In 1962, USSR gave Cuba nuclear missiles, which caused a crisis nationwide. It was resolved when USA agreed to take their nuclear missiles away from Türkiye and Italy in exchange for the missiles to be removed from Cuba.

The two superpowers were also competing technologically, making tons of nukes and trying to achieve more in space. The Soviets had the first victories but were beaten when USA orbited around Earth in 1962. Plus, the US sent the first people on the Moon in 1969, and it was a success. Neil Armstrong was the first man to step on the Lunar surface, with Buzz Aldrin being the second.

In 1965, a degenerate counterculture movement rose, with members of the movement being called " Hippies". Sparked by the spies that the Soviets implemented to cause disruption among American society, these so-called free spirits rejected traditional values, favoring self-indulgence over responsibility. Eschewing hard work and discipline, they instead embraced a lifestyle of aimless wandering, substance abuse, and anti-establishment rhetoric. This movement laid a solid foundation for the further degeneration of the left in the future.

Now, the Vietnam War was still ongoing. USA, fearing a direct Chinese invasion, didn't invade North Vietnam and instead focused on defending the South. USSR's influence of spies implemented in America sparked the anti-war movement among the young generation, calling for the retreat of American forces, and this movement grew so large that the US was forced to retreat and give up on saving South Vietnam in 1975. After 4 months of American absence, the entirety of Vietnam fell to communism. This war was considered an embarrassing defeat for the US, and he is still being mocked for it to this day, despite the fact it was not the military who lost, rather it was the will of the public.

The essence of the Korean War and Vietnam War isn't much different, a communist Asian country invades their capitalist pro-American counterpart. But, the difference with Vietnam is that it was being televised, making people see for themselves how terrible war is.

In the 1960s and 1970s, America under Nixon and Kissinger helped create a bunch of anti-communist dictatorships in Latin America. Many anti-Americans accuse the US of being a hypocrite for the USA also called out against how USSR made puppet states in Eastern Europe. However, the difference is, while America did help and support these anti-communist dictatorships, they were not directly controlled by America and they made decisions on their own for the most part, unlike the Soviet-backed puppets. Under Nixon, USA also found himself in the Watergate scandal, which led to Nixon's resignation.

By the 1970s, the US' trade surplus flipped to a trade deficit due to the US' rebuilding deal mentioned before, and American businesses were being undercut by foreign competitors, such as the American automobile industry getting wrecked when Japanese cars started to flood the market.

In 1979, the US, under the Carter administration tried to give the Soviets their own Vietnam War by funding the Afghan Mujahideen. It worked, the Soviets were trapped in an unwinnable quagmire and the war turned out to be disastrous for USSR. It also contributed to his collapse. But, the Mujahideen the US funded split into multiple Jihadist groups, one of them being the Taliban.

In 1986, president Ronald Reagan ordered airstrikes on Libya after it was revealed that Muammar Gaddafi was behind multiple terrorist attacks against Americans, including the bombing of a Berlin nightclub that killed American soldiers. Gaddafi survived and became even more defiant, increasing his anti-Western rhetoric.

In 1988, Soviet Union effectively lost the Cold War when the Iron Curtain began to disintegrate, and the Eastern Bloc was divided and dissolved in 1989.

The Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, officially ending the Cold War in an American victory.

Post-Cold War Era

After the Cold War, America became the sole global superpower. He began to try to reform healthcare and grow the economy. The economy experienced a period of growth, fueled by the dot-com boom, but ended the decade with the bursting of the dot-com bubble.

Since the Cold War ended, there was no need for the US' trade system, since the Soviets are gone. So, trade should have gotten back to being more balanced. But that is not what happened, and it got way much worse. In 1992, president Georgie Senior got the ball rolling on the North American Free Trade Agreement with Canada and Mexico, and later president Billy granted China permanent status of favoured nation by signing the US-China Relations Act of 2000. So basically, the US created a global free trade system to fight an aggressive communist dictatorship, and when that was done, used the same system to build up an aggressive communist dictatorship. Since then, America's trade deficits have exploded.

In the 1990s, the US government declassified the Venona files, a collection of Soviet communications that were decoded by American intelligence during World War II. These documents showed that at least three hundred Soviet spies were working in the US government, including high-ranking officials in the Roosevelt administration who had access to top-secret information. Other agents used their positions to influence American policymaking and statecraft.

USA fought Iraq in the Gulf Wars of 1991 and 2003. The 1990s was also the decade where USA was attacked directly and indirectly by Al-Qaeda:

1. In 1993 when Al-Qaeda bombed the World Trade Center.
2. In 1996 when Al-Qaeda attacked the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia.
3. In 1998 when Al-Qaeda bombed USA's embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.

In response, USA failed to kill Al-Qaeda with cruise missiles. Then, in 1999, he successfully avoided the Y2K bug, returned the Panama Canal Zone to Panama something he would later regret.

In the year 2000, the USS Cole Bombing happened: Al-Qaeda suicide attacked a US Navy ship in Yemen, killing 17 (including the attackers). This was a warning sign of what was to come.

With the rest of the world, America celebrated the arrival of the New Millennium in 2001.

Modern Era

On September 11, 2001, two planes from the jihadist organization Al-Qaeda hit the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. This killed 2,977 victims and 19 hijackers. This attack is forever glued to the American hearts; it shattered the optimism about the new millennium, making a paranoid USA overhaul his security, air travel, surveillance, data collection, internal intelligence agencies, cooperation, and most visibly, his own geopolitical ambitions. President George W. Bush declared a global war on terror, and used it to justify military intervention in the Middle East. The US has been tangled there ever since.

As a part of the War on Terror, America went into the Middle East and searching for terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq. On April 9, 2003, US-led coalition forces seized Baghdad, toppling Saddam Hussein's regime.

In late August 2005, Hurricane Katrina hit USA. The damages are estimated between $97.4 billion to $145.5 billion, with 1,836 fatalities.

USA and his allies intervened in Libya's multiple personality disorders in 2011, and killed Osama hiding in Pakistan the same year. USA under Obama then gave the gays rights and tried to hide his corruption. In 2014, USA and Cuba reconciled for the first time in almost 50 years.

The 2016 US election was probably the most controversial election in the history of the USA. The race was between the Democrat candidate Hillary and Republican candidate Donald. Hillary utilized the entire media and steered it into the far-left, and anti-Trump propaganda covered every corner of the internet. Everywhere you would see outrageous fake claims about Trump, such as Trump "telling supporters to drink soap" (obviously taken out of context). The most popular conspiracy theory was that Trump was working with Russia. So, it was a real surprise to many when he was elected. At least 217 violent leftist protestors were arrested in Washington D.C. on the day of his inauguration. Leftists accused "Russian Interference" of somehow making Trump win.

In 2017, USA and NATO engaged in fighting against ISIS, Boko Haram, remnants of the followers of Al-Qaeda, and Taliban. He also indirectly teamed up with long-time rivals like Russia in fighting the kebabs.

Contemporary: 2020 and onwards

From 2016, the Democratic Party and the leftists grew increasingly far-left, making centrists and moderates appear conservative.

On August 15, 2021, Taliban forces marched into Kabul and took the city, ending the 20-year conflict in US defeat. Because of this, the Afghan government was replaced, and Biden's approval ratings plummeted.

From January 28 to February 4, 2023, a Chinese spy balloon was spotted flying over North America. USA shot it down , but Biden said it was not a major breach.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas, governing Gaza, attacked Israel's clay; in response, the latter declared war on the former. USA heavily supported Israel against his war against Hamas. Many American citizens disagreed and supported Palestine instead. This is quite strange as most of the Palestinian supporters are woke, something Palestine and Palestinians strongly dislike. Since then, USA has also vetoed many UN resolutions in support of Palestine to support the cube.

On December 29, 2023, South Africa accused Israel of genocide at United Nations, USA opposed him.

In 2024, it’s election year. The mainstream media has been telling lies about Trump to make him look bad for a decade now. Two opposing parties: Joe Biden-led Democratic Party and the Republican Party led by Donald Trump are really against each other. With the mainstream media in huge favor of Biden, Trump is in a tricky situation where fake news are all being made and used against him. Still, Joe Biden later got couped by his fellow democrats, and got replaced by his vice president Kamala Harris. Biden then proceeded to support Trump by acting stupid to get revenge on Kamala. He even put a MAGA hat on.

In 2024, the US quietly expanded their economic waters by presenting scientific data to show that their continental shelf reaches there. Some r*tards on the internet are somehow butthurt about this, even though the waters did not belong to any other country prior. Also, the United States began testing laser weapons on warships. This laser system, called "HELIOS" (High Energy Laser with Integrated Optical-dazzler and Surveillance) have a range of 6 miles and have a high and low mode, high mode destroys enemy drones while low mode tampers the electronics.

On January 12, 2024, USA began launching air strikes against Houthis in Yemen's clay due to their attacks on the Red Sea.

In October 2024, 100-year old former president Jimmy Carter got used and "endorsed" and "voted" for Kamala Harris. President Carter has devoted his life to his country and its people, especially the poor. He deserves better treatment than to be wheeled out and put on display in order to publicize the first day of Georgia early voting to "enthusiastically cast his vote for Kamala Harris".

Also in October 2024, Hurricane Milton, a category 5 hurricane, hit USA. Trump wins the 2024 presidential election, causing a massive Democratic meltdown. Trump signed orders to remove transgender things and plastic straws.

Canada is very mad response to the 25% tariff USA is planning to gave him for all the fentanyl and illegals coming in from his border into the US, initiating a culture war between the two. Trump has initiated tariffs on many countries on 2 April in order to balance out the huge trade deficit the US has, but later decided to pause them for 90 days for negotiations, except for the default 10% tariffs and the 125% tariffs on People's Republic of China (who seems to be Trump's main target), starting a US-China trade war.

Even though Canada and China retaliated, more than 75 countries, like Argentina, Israel, India, Vietnam, South Korea, and Japan, have not only refused to retaliate, but are instead working with Trump to hammer out a deal. By lowering barriers and evening out trade deficits, they hope to avoid the worst of the tariffs.

In May 2025, Trump decided to lift all sanctions off of the new Syria, hoping to restore relations after Ba'athist became gone.

Tariffs on PRC lowered from 145% to 30% as a temporary ceasefire for 90 days until August 1, with PRC also lowering his tariff from 125% to 10%. During the trade war, the amount of tariffs lead to an equivalent of a trade freeze. While U.S. small businesses suffered, analysts noted that PRC was hit harder, facing job losses and large struggling companies. The tariffs were paused again until another 90 days (and would be enacted if no side reached an agreement NOTHING EVER HAPPENS.) when Trump seemed hopeful in talking PRC to make a deal, but if history taught us anything, it's that the PRC never keeps his promises.

On August 11 2025, Trump send troops to Washington, DC combat severe crime, and restore public safety using legal authority unique to the district. DC had a 13-day streak of no homicides, something very rare. Chicago, another city ridden with crime, seems to be Trump's next target.

Culture

USA's culture is very mixed, as a lot of different people live there. It's often called a "melting pot", where you can bring your own culture and are free to practice it but it will be mixed. There are indigenous cultures that have been present for thousands of years, each with their own unique traditions, languages, and art forms. Native American tribes like the Navajo, Cherokee, and Sioux, among many others, contribute to the rich tapestry of American cultural heritage. The whites in America have cowboys and crocodiles.

In addition to indigenous influences, the USA has been significantly shaped by waves of (legal) immigration. European settlers brought their customs, languages, and religious practices, which were later joined by influences from African, Asian, Latin American, and Middle Eastern communities. This blend of cultures is evident in American cuisine, music, literature, and holiday celebrations.

For instance, the culinary scene in the USA is incredibly diverse, featuring everything from Italian pasta and Mexican tacos to Chinese dim sum and Indian curry. Music genres like jazz, blues, as well as more modern and degenerate genres like rock and hip-hop, all which originated in the USA, and reflect a blend of African, European and Latin influences. Literature and art in the USA also showcase a variety of perspectives and experiences, from classic American novels to contemporary works by authors of diverse backgrounds.

The cultural diversity of the USA is celebrated through numerous festivals and events, such as New York City's multicultural parades, Los Angeles' food festivals, and Chicago's music festivals, which highlight the contributions of different ethnic groups to the national fabric. This interculturalism is one of the defining characteristics of American identity, fostering a society that values inclusivity and innovation.

School Fights

The American public school system has many problems, one of which is school fights. They are very common in US public schools, and often happen for petty reasons. School fights in America aren't even limited to the students anymore, teachers often get injured by the students.

There are two reasons why school fights are so common in America:

1. Lack of repercussion. Students usually only get a few days suspended, some detention time, or even no punishment at all. This creates a culture where the kids aren't afraid of doing violence for they are not afraid or care about the punishments and they themselves are not properly morally educated in the woke society.
2. Social media glorifies school fightings. People who record and post gets tons of likes and engagement.

School Shootings

School shootings are terrible and tragic. Many people, particularly Europeans, likes to make fun of the US for allegedly having a lot of school shootings. Gun-control activists claim there a school shooting almost every day on average, and they happen more often then they do not. But, the major flaw is, the data they are using counts any discharge of a weapon on school property as a school shooting, even if no one is injured, it was when the school was closed (such as a shootout) or it's purely suicide. Shootings that are only targeted at one person are also counted, though it shouldn't be because it's homicide and not active shooter. About 10 kids die of school shootings a year, while 73 kids die of chocking on food a year. Not to mention it is safer to be at school than anywhere else, such as at home or in the pool. Despite this, America and school shootings still became infamous in meme culture and ways to mock the US.

A big part of it is media coverage. A school shooting cooks up a good story, it has parents crying, students running, police searching, and people are invested. It's like how a plane crash, which is very rare, makes the news coverage for days with animations and documentaries, but car crashes which are way more common only gets a snippet or two. Regardless, the possibility of an active school shooter have installed fear into the American people, who reinforced their schools with metal detectors, secret locks and strong posterboards that can withstand bullets.

Trivia

• USA is an outlier in democratic nations, still practicing the death penalty. Prisoners are mostly executed by electric chair or lethal injection.
• Unlike in the United Kingdom, eggs have to be refrigerated in the US. This is because American commercial eggs are washed and dried, but this process removes the egg's cuticle, making bacteria more easier to grow.
• The average person in the US eats 5 gallons of ice cream a year.
• The US has produced 3204 serial killers, far more than the rest of the world.
  • But, the US is the third most populated country, so the numbers are going to be higher compared to another country with a tenth of US population.
  • The US defined and wrote the book on how to catch and profile serial killers. The USA is apparently the best at catching them, hence the high numbers.
  • There are a number of authoritarian countries use who suppress their numbers, such as Communist China.
• In the United States, big food companies usually put a lot more unhealthy ingredients compared to other countries.
• The entire Mediterranean Sea can fit into the US without touching the border.
• The north White House fountain has been dyed green for Saint Patrick's Day every year since 2009.
• More than 10 billion 🍩 donuts are consumed annually in USA's clay.
